Developed and created an identity package for Dayworks, a direct hire mobile app that connects contractors and homeowners with tradespeople and laborers for on-demand project hiring.  Collateral included logo, app launcher icon, business card and stationery, printed marketing materials, and graphics for Dayworks promotional vehicles.

The Challenge

Dayworks is a mobile app startup that connects both commercial contractors and DIY homeowners with tradespeople and day laborers with on-demand projects and services. The founders came to me with the concept, a target audience, and a grasp of the industry models and competitors they would need to stand apart from to launch a successful on-demand labor app for iOS and Android

I worked with the principals from the ground up to create a visual identity and marketing materials targeted to both the “looking for work” and “looking to hire” demographics, first for a local, then nationwide, marketing campaign to generate interest and subscribe users to the app.

The Logomark

The logomark is meant to represent several aspects of the work for hire connection; the cog in motion represents one part of many who help bring projects to fruition, the radial shape of the implied sun as the day’s work is done, while the vibrant gradient projects energy and positive outlook.

Since Dayworks would be primarily accessed via the app, I designed a favicon that distilled the logo down to its signature mark and monogram “D”.

To support new subscribers to the app, I designed a desktop landing page of the site to guide new users through the sign up process and how to use the on-demand features for both hiring and looking for work.

To promote the concept and brand, I designed a truck wrap, flyers & other marketing to give Dayworks’ brand ambassadors maximum visibility, impact and connection with new users of the app.
